My husband Mike and I started with pugs way back in our high school days in the late 60's. We searched high and low and could not find a pug pet - so - we settled for peke's. Our dream was not realized until March, 1993 when  eight week old Trixie entered our families' life. Since then we have been owned and spoiled by this special breed.

As the years followed Biff entered our family. We realized that we were so dedicated to this breed we wanted to enjoy every part of their life. In 2004 we were fortunate to have our pride and joy, Henry, enter our family circle.

Henry quickly showed his mom how to succeed in the show ring. With no experience Henry and mom went and tried things out. Shortly thereafter Henry finished his championship within a little over a month of winning his first points. By 12 months of age he became known as Ch. CandyLand's Oh Henry finishing with 3 majors.

Henry has become quite the celebrity here on the east coast. At just 3 years of age he has earned 63 best of breeds, 12 groups, ended the 2007 year with his second Eukanuba invite, ranked #14 and made the cut at Westminster!  Henry has retired from the show ring and is devoting his time to helping others as a registered therapy dog. We are so proud of him!

Maggie, aka Ch. Candyland's Creme Bruelee, has made a noticeable entrance also into the show arena. She finished on the competitive Harrisburg circuit accumulating several BOS and a very highly prestigious BREED against ranked specials, including Henry! Maggie has proved to be the best mom ever to her two beautiful litters.

Ch. Candyland's Snicker's Fudge Bar, our wonderful black boy pictured above, MAX, joined our crew here at Valleybrook. He has acheived the rare honor of winning BREED a few days after his 6 month birthday, for a 4 point major! He accomplished this by defeating 30 pugs including 5 specials, 2 of them ranked! Indeed an honor in a situation but especially for a black pug. Max finished on 11-16-08 from the puppy classes with 3 majors and tons of comments from all the judges. Look for this wonderful little guy in the future to set the rings on fire.
